Gwyneth Paltrow Faces Criticism For Recent Goop Convention

According to a report from Page Six, Gwyneth Paltrow is under fire for supposedly charging attendees at her Goopy summit in the United Kingdom a reported $5,700. Page Six claims Paltrow conducted a 2-day-long pitch to attendees about her company, while she, herself, left during some of the more fun events, suggesting she didn’t want to be there in the first place.

One of the guests at the event was so upset with how the conference was conducted that they sent a text message through WhatsApp to other attendees saying that Gwyneth Paltrow was a lot like an “extortionist.” Reportedly, people who attended were charged approximately $1,300 to stay at the Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel for just two nights.

Later on, people found out the same hotel was charging just $250 per night, still, an expensive stay, but not nearly the same amount for the rooms during the Goop summit. Gwyneth promoted being creative with one’s hands and also “hydrating mindfully” for optimal health.

One person who spoke with Page Six said Gwyneth acts as if she’s a “health goddess,” and is unbelievably pretentious, and also a “greedy extortionist.” The anonymous commenter said to the publication that they used to be a fan of Paltrow until this event.

A representative for the health and wellness company said the expensive summit was justifiable on account of the “golden facials” and “far-infrared gemstone therapy,” in addition to other health and wellness events not related to Paltrow’s criticized company.

As it was previously reported, Gwyneth has come under fire repeatedly in the past for the aforementioned health company, most on account of making claims not proven by science, nor accepted by anybody in the medical community.
