Jennifer Ehle’s full name is Jennifer Anne Ehle. She was born to parents Rosemary Harris and John Ehle on December 28, 1969, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her mother is a British actress, and her father is an American actor. She spent her childhood in the United States and the United Kingdom. She used to spend the majority of her childhood in North Carolina. As a toddler, she appeared in “A Streetcar Named Desire” Broadway revival in 1973. 

Jennifer Ehle went to several different schools. She went to Interlochen Art Academy, North Carolina School of Arts, and Central School of Speech and Drama.

Jennifer Ehle started her television career in 1992. In the year 1992, she appeared in the miniseries called “The Camomile Lawn.” In the miniseries, she played the role of Calypso for five episodes. In the TV production of the play “The Maitlands” in 1993, she portrayed the role of Phyllis. The same year, she appeared as Tamsin in 6 episodes of the miniseries “Rik May all Presents: Micky Love.” In 1995, she got her earliest prominent role in the miniseries “Pride and Prejudice” as the character Elizabeth Bennet. In 1997, she portrayed the role of Melissa in the five-part drama miniseries titled “Melissa.”

After almost 11 years of not appearing on TV, in 2008, she appeared in the role of Lorraine Morrissey in the TV film “The Russell Girl.” From 2011 to 2012, she played the role of Anna Paul in 16 episodes of the fantasy medical drama series titled “A Gifted Man.” She played Susan in an episode of “Low Winter Sun” in 2013.
