Joe Westerman Wife: Meet Lauren Westerman – Joe Westerman is a professional rugby league footballer who currently plays as a loose forward or second-row for the Castleford Tigers in the Betfred Super League and represents England and the England Knights at the international level.

Westerman has had a successful and illustrious career in rugby league, starting his professional career with the Castleford Tigers after signing from his junior club, the Featherstone Lions, in 2007. He had a great first season in the Super League for Castleford in 2008, scoring 12 tries in 25 games, and was tipped for being a future England RL international.

Westerman was then signed by Hull F.C. as their marquee player for Super League XVI, with the club paying a high transfer fee to secure his services. He then signed with Warrington for a fee of £150,000 in October 2015, and played in the 2016 Challenge Cup Final and the 2016 Super League Grand Final.

In 2017, Westerman signed with the Toronto Wolfpack, Rugby League’s first trans-Atlantic team, but was released by the club after making only 4 appearances. He returned to Hull FC in April 2018 before eventually returning to his boyhood club, the Castleford Tigers, on a two-year deal in June 2021.

Westerman has had a great start to his second stint with the Castleford Tigers, making his second debut in February 2022 and being voted the Fans’ Man of the Match for the first two rounds of the season. He was also praised by his head coach, Lee Radford, who called him “the best 13 in the competition”.

Westerman has represented the England Knights, captaining them to a 38-18 victory against France in October 2011. He made his senior international debut for England in October 2014 and returned to the England team in June 2021. With his strong performance for the Castleford Tigers and his previous international experience, Westerman is sure to make a significant impact on the rugby league world.
